Stumbled across this website for Sexy Bicycles - a boutique bike producer in Australia specializing in fixies, single speeds and internal geared hubs.
SexyBicycles.com
I appreciate their brand ethos and thought I would share:
With the coming of a new age in cycling, bicycles have moved beyond just being sporting equipment or a mere means of transport. They now represent a way of life and a statement of belief, with which comes a requirement for bicycles to suit this paradigm shift. That is, bicycles which do and say more than the average.
High quality, contemporary design and competitive pricing have been the driving forces behind the conception and development of Sexy Bicycles. This is followed closely by a desire to create a unique cycling experience defined by style, individuality and simplicity.
Sexy.

Mukluk – new bike from Salsa born for Minnesota winters.
Curious if this is a direct plug and play to Surly’s Pugsley for QBP.

I just have to say – I love the look of the Minneapolis Bike Share Program – Nice Ride.
Friday I watched five men/women that were thirty something cruse past Common Roots in South Minneapolis and saw four twenty something dudes hop on bikes and cruise in the bike lane downtown. Both instances they didn’t look look like the “typical” bike riders – fantastic.
What a great way to spread the bike love outside bike circles. Kudos to the city for pulling this together and getting it implemented.

I want to share with you an exciting project with which I am passionate and have had the opportunity to be involved with over the past few months.
What’s the skinny?
Over the past few months I’ve been working with Bikes Belong, a non-profit group comprised of national bicycle suppliers and retailers working to advance bicycling in America.
Bikes Belong provides community grants, promotes safe bicycling and lobbies Congress to maximize federal funding for bicycle transportation.
What’s the specific skinny?
Last night at the National Bike Summit in Washington D.C., Bikes Belong announced to the industry the soft launch of the peopleforbikes.org movement.
The goal of peopleforbikes.org is to unite a million voices of support, to make bicycling safer, more convenient and appealing for everyone – no matter what reason or how frequent you ride a bike.
So, why are you telling me this?
To make the largest impact during our official launch in April we need your support.
Go online and check out the website – www.peopleforbikes.org – and more importantly, sign up under “Join Us” to share your voice which shows your support for a better future for bicycling.

The Twin Cities Bike Swap can be marked as a success.
Lots of interest and orders for wood fenders, unloaded some parts and drank more Peace Coffee than two humans should.
The camera is back in action – pictures of the event and fenders to come.

Cyclescheme is a company in the UK created to help employers and employees maximize the government’s transportation plan.
In the UK, you can set aside pre-tax dollars to purchase a bike. What a brilliant and forward thinking initiative to encourage bicycle transportation – companies get a healthier workforce, employees get a huge cash break on a bicycle and encouraged bicycle transportation to reduce city congestion.
And the best part – a company created to ensure people take the most of the opportunity.
It would be great to see legislation in the US that put the same weight to alternative transportation.
