Solid Winter Singletrack & Offroad Cyclists Politics by iKeLikEsBiKeS

Last night 3 members of the Bike Anonymous blog and one potential recruit hit the Minneapolis Theo Wirth trails for an amazing winter singletrack session. I had never hit the trails with the snow down and have to say that it was a top-notch ride.

The trail was unusually perfect with a solid base of well packed snow that has been frozen through from the past three weeks of below 15 degree weather. The temp last night was 32 and made for a warm ride – well at least for us Minnesota peeps.

The picture above was taken by a member of MOCA (Minneapolis Offroad Cyclists Advocates which used to be a Chapter of MORC (Minnesota Offroad Cyclists) but is now an independent chapter due to some strange politics that none of the Bike Anonymous crew could understand. I only mention it because we have two solids laughs; one due to the fact that we had never heard of MOCA and felt like we were offending by mentioning MORC and second because we never realized that there were politics in non-profit cycling advocacy. Guess you really do learn something new everyday.

For those who don’t know what I am talking about go here:

Thank you Shad with MOCA for the awesome photo and for having such a cool 1×1 Rat Ride with 3.0 Knobbies. None of us had ever seen one of those before.
